PERFORMANCE COACHES AT TOTAL PERFORMANCE TRAINING CENTER- ORS FIELDHOUSE

Vince Mottes BS, AT, ATC

Vince grew up in the Jackson area where he graduated from Grass Lake High School in 2011. At Grass Lake he played basketball, cross-country, and competed in triathlons. Vince later attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. At NMU, he worked along the sidelines providing Athletic Training services for the football, basketball, and hockey teams under the direction of Julie Rochester.

After graduating in the spring of 2015, Vince moved back to the Jackson area to work for Orthopeadic Rehab Specialists as an Athletic Trainer and Performance Coach. Currently, Vince provides Athletic Training services to Homer High School for all teams and events. When Vince is not working at Homer, he is working as a Performance Coach for Total Performance Training Center. Vince often participates in triathlons and running events in the local area throughout the summer. He’s passionate about coaching youth basketball teams in Jackson and his high school Alma Mater.

 

Nick VanBogelen CSCS, AT, ATC

Nick received his degree in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from Albion College. At Albion College, he played football as a middle linebacker for the Brits all four years.  Since Nick start working for Othopaedic Rehab Specialists, he has provided medical cover as an Athletic Trainer at several area schools. As a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association, Nick has been actively involved with implementing performance training to improve athletes of the greater Jackson area so they may perform optimally in their sport.  Nick has worked with a wide range of athletes from professional hockey, to little league football. Over the last several years, he has worked with many Jackson area soccer teams, not only high schools teams, but both men’s collegiate soccer programs in the area.  Nick is constantly in pursuit of improving his knowledge in performance enhancement as well as strength and conditioning, to better train his athletes.

 

Ryan Vogel MHSA, AT, ATC, CSCS

Ryan grew up in Hastings, Michigan where he played multiple sports. Starting in his sophomore year he began doing speed and agility training which helped improve his athleticism over the rest of the years until he graduated in 2008. Upon graduation, he went to Central Michigan University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, becoming a certified Athletic Trainer in 2012. During the winter of 2012, he did a rotation at Sturgis High School where he learned under Jim Lioy AT, ATC, CSCS who taught and directed the strength and speed and agility programs at the school for around three decades.

After graduating with his bachelor’s degree, Ryan accepted a Graduate Assistant Athletic Training Position at the University of Detroit Mercy.  From the summer of 2012 until the summer of 2014, Ryan served as the Athletic Trainer for the Division I Women’s Soccer and Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Teams, covering and caring for all of the teams’ practices and competitions. While at UDM, he completed his Master’s Degree in Health Service Administration and graduated in the summer of 2014.

After graduating, Ryan began Working at Orthopaedic Rehab Specialists in the summer of 2014.  He was assigned as the Athletic Trainer for Vandercook Lake High School.  On top of caring for the athlete’s medical care at the school, Ryan has also been responsible for helping conduct performance training sessions for the in-season teams for the past three years.  He received his Certified Strength and Conditioning Certification (CSCS) in the winter of 2015 and is continuing to stay up to date on continuing education in the field.
